The merge of AAT and IPA aims to bridge the gap between accountants and accounting technicians. By doing so, we aim to create a connected ecosystem with a joint purpose of helping small business thrive.

We will build strong community of bookkeepers and accountants who can work together to form a team of advisers for their clients.

With the merge, there are changes to your membership designations. Your previous membership designation with AAT has now changed. Please see below.

AAT Member
Requirements

  • TBP Registration
  • Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
  • 1 year experience in Bookkeeping or BAS Agent role

MIPA (AAT)
Requirements

  • Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
  • TBP registration or completion of the Certified Accounting Technician Program
  • 1 year experience in Bookkeeping or BAS Agent role

AAT AAT Fellow
Requirement

  • 5 years as an AAT Member or equivalent

FIPA (AAT)
Requirements

  • 7 years membership MIPA (AAT) or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience in a bookkeeping or BAS Agent role
